Ayuh was born from a simple but enduring belief:
light is one of the most powerful tools in design and one of the most underestimated.

Founded by Maitreyee, a lighting designer with a background in architecture, Ayuh grew from years of observing how the right light could completely transform a space, and how the wrong light could quietly undo everything else.

We are a boutique studio with a single conviction.

Every project regardless of scale, deserves the same depth of thought, the same precision of craft and the same genuine care for the people who will one day live and move within it.

We work closely with architects, interior designers, and developers.

Not as a service provider, but as a creative partner invested in the outcome. We ask the difficult questions early, listen carefully and never treat light as an afterthought.

Behind the light

Maitreyee believes every space has a story waiting to be told.

And that light is the most powerful way to tell it.

Her work is driven by a deep passion for creating environments that move people, where atmosphere is felt before it is seen, and where the interplay of light and shadow gives a room its soul.

She brings both technical rigour and spatial intuition to every project.

Rooted in a background in architecture, Maitreyee understands form, material and proportion that runs deeper than light alone. Every lighting decision she makes is informed by how a space is built, not just how it looks.

Her experience spans commercial fitouts, hospitality, landscape and curated residential interiors.

She has worked alongside architects and interior designers across Sydney, contributing to projects from concept stage through to final specification, coordinating with builders, contractors and suppliers to ensure the design intent is never lost in translation.

She holds deep working knowledge of Australian lighting standards, bringing the same precision to compliance as she does to atmosphere.

She enters the conversation early, asks the questions that matter, stays through the difficult decisions, and never specifies what a space doesn't need.
